Against all odds

PSV ousting Lyon. Liverpool edging Juventus. The classic examples of the underdogs coming up strong against their more fancied opponents.

PSV showed plenty of spirit, coming from a goal down at half time to equalise and force the game to penalty kicks, in which the French champions were out done.

Liverpool stuck up to the task. Defending stoutly for the full 90 mins, never really threatened by the Old Lady except for an early Zlatan Ibrahimovic strke and the header that amazingly struck off the post midway in the seconc half.

Every year, every competition, there're bound to be the surprise packages. This season's champions league unveils two. Remember last year when we had a Porto Monaco final.Who's to say for sure that we won't be having a Liverpool PSV final in Istanbul?
